On 5th October Aakash Tablet was launched by Indian HRD minister Kapil Sibal. It is manufactured by company Datawind in Hyderabad. Specification is of Aakash tablet computer that would be available to students via government subsidy.

- Initial Cost : Initially cost of production for Aakash tablet is around INR 2276 (Around 50$)
- Price : Student will get the device in around 35$ (INR 1730), government will bear the subsidy.
